Data Sovereignty, Cyber Resilience, and the Cloud: Where Elysys Stands

For financial services organisations evaluating cloud-based platforms, the questions that matter most are rarely about features. They are about liability, data control, regulatory compliance, and what happens when things go wrong. These are questions Elysys has been engaged with since the earliest days of cloud adoption in the industry, and they have shaped every architectural decision we have made since.

The regulatory landscape for cloud in financial services has grown significantly more complex. GDPR, the EU AI Act, evolving data residency requirements, and increasing scrutiny from financial regulators mean that choosing a cloud platform is now as much a legal and compliance decision as a technology one. Cyber threats have grown in parallel, financial institutions remain among the most targeted organisations globally, and the consequences of a breach extend well beyond the technical.

Elysys's response to this environment is built into the platform by design, not added as a configuration layer. By building natively on Microsoft Azure and Dynamics 365 Business Central, Elysys clients inherit an enterprise security framework that meets the most demanding global standards: GDPR compliance, SOC 1 and SOC 2 certifications, ISO 27001, and Transparent Data Encryption at rest and in transit. Through Microsoft's Sovereign Cloud offering, clients can control precisely where their data resides, whether in EU data centres for European regulatory alignment or US regions for US sovereignty requirements.

Critically, customers own and control their data at all times. It cannot be accessed by Elysys or Microsoft for AI training or any other purpose without explicit consent. Copilot and AI features are scoped strictly to each user's existing permissions, no more, no less.

Cloud adoption in financial services is no longer a question of if. It is a question of which platform gives you the legal certainty, security architecture, and long-term partner you can trust. For Elysys, the answer has always been Microsoft.
